Firefox 3 is here…
Well it’s actually been here a while, but only recommended to be used by developers. Because us mere mortals would obviously press the wrong buttons and erase our hard drives! But it has been lifted from the precious ‘developer beta’ to be replaced under the exciting ‘public beta’. Which means it can still accidentally destroy all your documents but this time it’s the users fault!
No, I’m sure everything will be dandy, I have full faith in those clever folks over at Mozilla. I moved over to Firefox several years ago when I was still in my internet infancy and never looked back. As well as being a generally cleaner, smoother and more functional browser – it’s so much better for web designers. Everything from the way it displays source code, the option to view background images and take selection sources etc. Plus, up until IE7 came stomping through the door, it was the only browser that seemed to display valid CSS pretty much the way it was intended to look.
So I think I’m going to mosey on over to the site and download the new Firefox 3 release. I won’t be surprised if I don’t actually notice any difference. Apparently all the upgrades are to improve security and stability – how imaginative!
